The Abundance Of Community Love

Never was there more abundance in a room…On September 19th the PRS families and donors celebrated their 5th anniversary of The Phoenix Rising School at the Nisqually Farm, in Yelm, Washington. The evening included an auction, raffle, and a multitude of generous donations which included a hoody t-shirt, designed and donated by Ikuko Nitta, signed by JZ Knight that was sold for $7,000. All donations combined made over $93,000.

Garden to Gourmet donated and served up a meal fit for Royalty. There was a choice of chicken or steak, and each dish was accompanied by mashed potatoes, and delicious organic greens. Wine flowed freely, and the merriment began.

The evening was magical, filled with a community of givers. Cindy Schorno, her two brothers, and her father, lead the action with enthusiastic vigor that was contagious. Their family love, inspired everyone to join together and give. When Cindy called out for those who would sponsor the children at the $100.00, level the room went wild. People from every corner of the room shouted, “I will! I will! I will!” So many paddles went up, she could barely read them between her joy and tears.

Phoenix Rising School’s Executive Director, Nazila Mirani said, “We are so delighted to see that our community believes in our school and the amazing environment that has been created for the children.” We are all in awe of the commitment and generosity that was shown by community members, families, and staff.

The Phoenix Rising School would like to thank ALL of our sponsors, donors, staff, families and friends. We couldn’t do it without you!
